July 4th 2009

Well as you can see I am not one that keeps up with blogging. I forget about it but I keep up with my daughter's blog usually every other day. I don't know how she has the time to blog and take care of 3 children. I just got back after a week of visiting with her and my two wonderful granddaughters and my new grandson. I had a grand time seeing the girls and got to attend Annie's 6th birthday party. It was so interesting watch her interact with her friends and I loved watching Ella as she played at the park. So independent at age 3 1/2 years old. Annie acts so grown up and Baby Jack is a beautiful baby boy. He is a sweetheart and is such a good baby. I still don't know how my daughter manages so well. I admire the mother she is and how well she manages each day's surprises and everyday things.

I came home on 4th of July and it was an uneventful trip home unlike my trip to Atlanta. After I got home and it finally got dark outside Jamie and I sat outside and watched the neighborhood as many families set off fireworks. It was pretty to see but very noisy. Our dogs didn't like the noise very much. But it was all over by 11:00 pm. It was a good day. I love the 4th of July and what it represents. How fortunate we are to live in a free country to speak freely and worship freely. God Bless America!!!

I tried to take some pictures of the fireworks but my battery was dead in my SLR digital camera so I tried it with my new pocket digital. I didn't have a lot of success with the new camera. I am still learning how to use all the bells and whistles. I took this little camera with me when I went to see my new grandson but I wish I had taken my better camera but I didn't want to lug around a backpack on my trip. But I learned my lesson. Next time I will take it and just deal with the inconvenience of it. I also learned to pack me an extra set of clothes when I travel if I check my suitcase. I did without my suitcase for 3 days after landing in Atlanta. What a nighmare but they did finally get it to me. Thank goodness for Walmart's.

So it is back to work this week after a week off. What a long week it has been but tomorrow is Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th. Mine was great and made ever better because I got to spend time with my daughter and granddaugthers, grandson, son-in-law and my mom all last week.

Severe Weather Means Spring is here!

As you can see we had some scary times Thursday night. We were under severe thunderstorm warnings and also tornado warnings. The storms that were headed our way had already produced a torndao that destroyed many homes and the courthouse in Mena, AR. That tornado killed 3 people and there were many that were injured. When the storm arrived here we were very fortunate and only got the hail and very little rain. There was very little wind with the hail and rain. Jamie and I were very glad when it blew over and we could head to bed without the weather station siren going off every 5 minutes.
The patio chairs have seen their share of bad weather and now need to be thrown away and replaced. Guess I will go shopping at Walmarts and see if I can find some that fit! I am always looking for an excuse to go shopping!

Mother's Beautiful Yard

Mother's yard is always pretty each spring. Here are a few photos of her front yard. Most of her azalea's were in full bloom.

More of Norton's Art Gallery grounds

Springtime in Louisiana

Spring time is my favorite time of year. I took my Mom to Norton's Art Gallery located in Shreveport, Louisiana to see all the azalea's in bloom. It was so beautiful and Mom and I enjoyed the beautiful day and all of God's handiwork.
